The article deals with one of the central problems of teaching methods – the motivation in foreign language learning. The authors focus on the study, formation and maintenance of medical students’ motivation to know the professionally-oriented foreign language. The authors consider motivation as a driving force in the foreign language learning and the formation a foreign language professional competence in medical students
