The article analyzes China's energy security in the context of limited globalization. The plans of the 14th Five-Year Plan of the People's Republic of China laid down the vector of fundamental changes in the development of the national energy sector until 2025, related to the achievement of carbon neutrality. However, the dramatic transformation of the world order, which took place against the backdrop of the development of the crisis in Ukraine and the intensification of the US struggle against the economic growth of China, limited the number of integrating countries-subjects and pushed the PRC towards greater self-sufficiency in energy supply. The article reveals the content of the concepts of "energy security" and "globalization", defines ways to ensure China's energy security. The article analyzes electricity consumption by categories for 2018/2022 and reveals the structure of its generation volumes, reveals the dynamics of coal consumption by categories, and determines the volumes of production and imports of oil and gas by the People's Republic of China. The strong dependence of the world's key economies on the import of hydrocarbons and the concentration of production of scarce energy raw materials in individual countries intensify the geopolitical rivalry of states, however, the integration processes of globalization reduce the level of geopolitical struggle for energy resources and strengthen the security of countries in the energy sector.
