an object of research in article are E.I. Nazarov, T.G. Shevchenko, N. V. Uspensky's literary portraits created in early publicistic works of Ivan Bunin. Proceeding from a genre originality of a literary portrait, authors define features of its creation by Bunin. These specifics reflect conceptual views of the young writer of the nature of creativity and an image of the creative person.
