The role of the poet and playwright M. F. Akhundov and the founder of the national press G. M. Zardabi in the development of Azerbaijan literature and journalisme

This article examines in detail the role of two great personalities – Mirza Fatali Akhundov and Hasan Bay Zardabi - in the development of Azerbaijani literature and journalism. The author analyzes the key aspects of literary and philosophical creativity of M.F. Akhundov (in particular, its treatises), as well as editorial policy, rubrication and composition of publications of the newspaper "Ekinchi", published in 1875-1877 in Baku. Issues related to the Azerbaijani language and literature and the national alphabet were very important for the newspaper.
