The article touches upon the problems of teaching listening activities
in a non-linguistic higher school. The communicative approach of studying foreign languages is determined by four main aspects – speaking, writing, reading and listening. Listening represents simultaneous perception and understanding of the foreign speech. It has its goals, tasks, subjects, special features and results. It is a complex discipline apart that helps update knowledge of a foreign language.
