Historical aspects of sports development through the prism of international politics

The article is devoted to a retrospective historical analysis of the development and formation of sports. Special attention is paid to the influence of sport and its importance in the implementation of significant social and political functions. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of sport in establishing peace, the analysis is carried out on the example of ancient Olympics. The historical features of the integration of sports and politics are considered, starting from the creation of international sports federations in the second half of the XIX century
