L. Ulitskaya's story "the Daughter of Bukhara" focusing on a girl with Down syndrome - Bukharan Daughter, Mira. Ulitskaya reveals the beauty of her soul beneath her mutilated exterior. The story is set in the post-World War II Soviet Union. Ulitskaya shows readers the true value of life, the meaning of existence and the profound humanitarian ideology. This article intends to interpret her humanitarian ideology from three aspects: racial difference, physical, psychological disability and gender inequality.
