This study is dedicated to the analysis of the portrayal of nobility in F.M. Dostoevsky’s novel *The Adolescent*, which reflects the crisis of this social class against the backdrop of the social changes of the 19th century. In the context of the abolition of serfdom and the rise of capitalist relations, the nobility lost its economic and social positions, leading to profound spiritual and moral crises. The purpose of the study is to identify the key features of the noble characters and their role in the construction of the novel’s narrative structure. The research examines how Dostoevsky, through characters such as Versilov and Arkady, reveals the contradictions of noble ideals and the interactions of the nobility with other social classes. An important aspect of the analysis is the tension between high social status and the characters' spiritual emptiness. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the in-depth exploration of the crisis of noble values in the novel, as well as in the identification of their influence on the formation of the protagonist’s personality. A comparative literary analysis, character analysis, and historical-cultural context are employed to reveal themes of spiritual and moral decline among the aristocracy.
