CONVERGENT STRATEGY FOR THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS (BASED ON THE WORK OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE CONVERSATION CLUB AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE)

Modern society needs high-profile specialists in all spheres of economy, and the need in top-notch teachers is particularly great. Pedagogical convergence makes it possible to maximize the effect of practice-oriented professional training of foreign language teachers. The issue of poor Russian language competence among the foreign students who get their higher education in Russian universities is also central. The competence in Russian language can be developed not only in the lessons of Russian but also through participation in meetings of Russian as a foreign language speaking club. The aim of this article is to identify and justify the ways of implementing convergent strategies in the process of future foreign language teachers and Russian as a foreign language teachers training through their work as Russian as a foreign language speaking club leaders. The convergence of the aims of language training and professional training is reached at the stage of the development of the scenario of the club meeting and at the stage of conducting these club meetings.
