THE PROBLEM OF ADJECTIVATION: FEATURES OF THE TRANSITION OF NOUNS INTO THE CATEGORY OF ADJECTIVES

Language functions in a society that is constantly evolving, and regularly needs to reflect the changes taking place in it, respectively, stimulates active language processes. The replenishment of the lexical stock of the language by nominative means is carried out, first of all, at the expense of its own resources, the most significant of which is word formation, in particular, the transition of a word from one part of speech to another, i.e. conversion. This article examines the essence of adjectivation as a type of conversion. In this work, special attention is paid to the adjectivation of nouns, the problem and peculiarities of their transition to another part of speech and their use in the literary sphere.
