ON THE HISTORY OF D. CHERSHILA OF THE SARALIMA LAND VOLOST (FIRST QUARTER OF THE 18TH – MID 19TH CENTURIES)

The article discusses basic statistical and other information concerning the history of the village of Chershily (now Chershely, Tukaevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan). The approximate time of the founding of the village and the circumstances of the appearance of its first inhabitants have been revealed. The yasak Tatars of this and some other villages unsuccessfully tried to prove their rights to patrimonial ownership of land in the Saraliminsky land volost,, citing close kinship with the “Bashkirs” of some villages. This indicates that the latter came from the same villages of the Kazan district from which the yasak Tatars came.
