The article examines the theoretical and methodological foundations for integrating elements of traditional and contemporary painting into project-based activities for primary school students. It analyzes the psychological and pedagogical characteristics of art perception in young children and outlines the objectives of art education at the elementary level. Special attention is given to the integration of traditional painting genres and techniques, as well as modern art movements (abstraction, pop art, graffiti, digital art) into educational projects. The paper describes examples of project activities, methodological recommendations for selecting topics, materials, and stages of project implementation. The importance of interdisciplinary connections and the development of creative, aesthetically developed, and independent thinking in primary school students are emphasized.
