This article is devoted to the study of the vocabulary of horticulture in the Bashkir language. The choice of this topic as the object of study is due to the fact that the vocabulary of horticulture reflects the development of the material culture of the Bashkir people and allows us to determine the role and place of this economic sector in the history of the people. The largest group of horticultural vocabulary consists of the names of garden and vegetable crops. This semantic group can be divided into two subgroups: 1) the names of fruit and berry trees and shrubs; 2) the names of vegetable crops.
The names of gardening and horticulture, which are abundant in the living spoken language, are changing and updating due to the changes in the cultural and economic life of the people. Therefore, the fixation of this valuable linguistic material and its study are of great practical importance, especially in the creation of terminological and explanatory dictionaries of the modern Bashkir literary language.
