This article focuses on the pivotal role of George Canning in forging the political alliance that sought to resolve the Greek crisis. The author employed the method of historicism to verify the source materials. Primary source research for this article included archival materials from the Foreign Policy Archive of the Russian Imperia (AVPRI), periodicals, and academic literature. The investigation centered on archival documents pertaining to the expansion of the Anglo-Russian Protocol of 1826, with specific attention given to Austria's stance. Particular emphasis is placed on Canning's instructions to Lord Granville, the British Ambassador in Paris, regarding the imperative of coordinated action with his Russian counterpart, Pozzo di Borgo. Analysis of these sources reveals Canning's significant contribution to the formation of the Anglo-Russian-French alliance in 1827.
