The article critically examines the salient aspects and inherent characteristics pertaining to the integration of intelligent chatbots within the framework of autonomous foreign language acquisition. The contemporary relevance of this research is predicated upon the imperative for pedagogical personalization and the necessity of surmounting the inherent limitations associated with conventional instructional methodologies, notably the paucity of immediate feedback and tailored pedagogical approaches. The primary objective of this investigation is twofold: firstly, to substantiate the didactic potential of intelligent chatbots; and secondly, to delineate foundational principles for their development utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, with the overarching aim of optimizing students' independent foreign language learning endeavors. The empirical findings indicate that the prototype chatbot, engineered with AI technologies for autonomous foreign language study, evinced considerable efficacy in accommodating the idiosyncratic educational requirements of students, concurrently facilitating bespoke task selection and providing pertinent, constructive feedback.
