The article examines the lexical units used to describe military conflicts in the media, related to the military sphere and used in the media in the Khanty language. The principles and features of the translation of military vocabulary of the Khanty language from newspaper journalistic texts are analyzed. The purpose of the work is to analyze military vocabulary to identify the features of its functioning in journalistic and literary texts of the Khanty language.
The study used newspaper articles in the Khanty language, "Khanty Yas, Ԓukh Avt," which reflect military events. The main research method, based on the goals and objectives of the study, is the analysis of dictionary definitions and the method of structural-semantic analysis. Additionally, the study employs the method of continuous sampling, descriptive analysis, statistical analysis, and comparative analysis.
This work is devoted to the study of the problem of translating military terminology. The relevance of the chosen research topic lies in the fact that military vocabulary has not been studied on the basis of newspaper articles in the Khanty language. In addition, the study of military terminology is relevant due to its intensive development in the context of modern technological progress, as well as the importance of issues related to the military sphere. In the media published in the Khanty language, lexemes and combinations belonging to various groups of military vocabulary are used: names of military units, names of military ranks and positions, names of military personnel, names of weapons, elements of weapons, equipment, names of protective means, names of items of clothing and footwear of military personnel. A large number of borrowed words of military vocabulary is realized in the language, native vocabulary is used mainly in the name of weapons. When it is necessary to depict aggressive actions or groups of people, metaphorization is used.
