The aim of the research is to study the concept, principles and methodological foundations of intelligent (smart) teaching of foreign language to students of non-language specialties. Methods and organization of the study: the methods of analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature in general access were used. It is argued that the presence of gaps in the methodological knowledge and practice of teaching foreign language to students of non-language specialties is associated with a mono-oriented approach to solving subject and meta-subject tasks, which can significantly limit and (or) completely block the prospective reflection of students in achieving the ultimate goals of their career strategy. Research Results and Conclusions. The conceptual foundations of intelligent (smart) teaching a foreign language in higher education are developed, a list of its principles-bases is proposed. Emphasis is placed on the principle of methodological support for organizing independent cognitive, research, project and other activities of students of non-linguistic specialties when teaching foreign (English and French) languages for the purpose of replenishing knowledge that cannot be obtained in the traditional way due to the external learning mode and, thus, achieving subject and meta-subject results. An algorithm for a startup of this model is proposed, with special attention paid to the problem of the comprehensive competence of a foreign language teacher. The usefulness of introducing elements of a frame approach to teaching professional English- and French-language vocabulary to students of non-linguistic specialties using smart technologies is proposed and argued, regardless of the resource availability of the educational organization (university), as well as the teacher's knowledge, skills and abilities in interacting with "smart" technologies. It is concluded that there is a need to continue applied research in the field of development of the theory, methodology and practice (pedagogical experience) of smart teaching of foreign (English and French) languages, including the direction of setting professional vocabulary.
