The article is devoted to the problems and prospects of integrating traditional Chinese painting into the system of secondary art education in Russia. Philosophical and aesthetic differences between Russian and Chinese artistic traditions, technical features of Chinese painting, as well as difficulties associated with a lack of methodological base and qualified teachers are analyzed. A conceptual model for the synthesis of two traditions and ways of training teachers through joint educational programs is proposed. The potential of Chinese painting as a means of intercultural dialogue and enrichment of art education in Russia is noted.
