The article is devoted to changes in the perception of the memory of the Great Patriotic War in modern Russian society, especially among young people. The author notes that with the passage of time and the departure of veterans, interest in the topic decreases, despite the state's efforts to preserve historical memory through holidays, educational programs and legislative measures. However, a formal approach and excessive ideologization can lead to the loss of the real meaning of the memory of the war.
The role of education in the formation of historical consciousness is analyzed: school teaching faces problems of limited time, insufficient teacher training and monotony of methods. Young people receive information from the Internet and social networks, where there are often conflicting points of view, which can cause confusion. This element highlights the importance of creating a unified process for teaching history.
As a result of a sociological study, differences in the level of interest and understanding of the value of war among different age groups were revealed. To solve the problem, recommendations are proposed: development of project-based training, professional development of teachers, creation of digital resources and strengthening of memorial initiatives. The main goal is to make the memory of the war alive and meaningful for future generations.
