TOPOGRAPHIC ANATOMY OF FACIAL NERVES AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE IN SURGICAL PRACTICE

The article presents a review of the literature data on the topographic and anatomical features of the location of the lesion of the facial nerve. During the analysis, the authors concluded that the lesion of the facial nerve is one of the most common pathologies, most often it is inflammatory in nature, the least common cause is the result of an infectious disease. There are a number of difficulties in diagnosing lesions of the facial nerve due to its topographical and anatomical features. It is necessary to focus attention on them when developing accesses, surgical treatment of facial nerve paresis, opening phlegmon and in plastic surgery.
