PROBLEMS OF CLASSIFICATION, DIAGNOSIS AND SURGICAL TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH PRESACRAL CYSTS – A LITERATURE REVIEW

The article reviews the current concepts of classification and diagnosis of presacral cysts, as well as approaches to surgical treatment. The correlation of Russian and foreign classification of presacral tumors is determined. Modern tendencies in instrumental diagnostics of presacral cysts are considered, the debatable issues regarding the use of puncture biopsy as a method of preoperative diagnostics are outlined. The methods of surgical treatment of patients with presacral cysts, existing today variants of operative approaches are considered. Special attention is paid to the problem of choosing surgical approach for presacral cysts removal, recent studies in this field are considered. Besides, the results of surgical treatment of patients with presacral cysts are considered, the frequency of complications and recurrence of the disease is determined. The modern concept of recurrence after removal of presacral cysts is defined.
