The article examines the relationship between magnesium levels and depression in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) on the background of undifferentiated connective tissue dysplasia syndrome (UCTDS). We present the results of a study of 220 patients with ACS on the background of UCTDS.
It has been proven that these patients have a high level of social anxiety.
It was found that low Mg levels were found in 91% of ACS patients with UCTDS and 52% of ACS patients. During the study, we found that the incidence of depression among patients with ACS and UCTDS was 72% (39% in the group of patients with ACS, and 37% in the group of patients with dysplasia only).
Correlation analysis revealed the presence of direct significant links between Mg levels and depression in patients with ACS and ACS with UCTDS. When analyzing the magnesium level in patients with ACS on the background of UCTDS, the Mg level was statistically significantly lower - 0.62 [0.61; 0.64] mmol/l than in patients with ACS - 0.80 [0.79; 0.82] mmol/l and patients with UCTDS 0.99 [0.98; 0,] mmol/l, p<0.05. In the course of the study, we proved the relationship between magnesium levels and depression in patients with acute coronary syndrome on the background of undifferentiated connective tissue dysplasia.
