The article presents a comprehensive analysis of modern scientific data on severe tropical malaria. The features of the pathogenesis of the disease, including the mechanisms of damage to internal organs and the development of complications are considered. Modern diagnostic methods are described, among which the leading role belongs to microscopic examination of blood smears. The effectiveness of various treatment regimens is analyzed, showing the advantage of combined therapy with kinimax and fansidar. Particular attention is paid to preventive measures, including health education and chemoprophylaxis. It has been established that timely diagnosis and early initiation of specific therapy are key factors in a favorable outcome of the disease.
