The polyphyletic group Protozoa includes unicellular eukaryotic organisms, many of which are parasites of humans and animals. Their molecular-genetic features, however, are only weakly studied. The aim of this work is to systematize and analyze the main quantitative indicators that characterize the genetic features of representatives of the polyphyletic group Protozoa that are pathogenic to humans and animals, as well as some specific characteristics inherent to their individual clades.

Keywords:Protozoa, protozoans, genetics, invasive diseases, host-parasite system.
