Acute limb ischemia is a serious life–threatening complication of heart and vascular diseases that requires timely diagnosis and emergency surgery. The prevalence of DEC among vascular diseases ranges from 10.0% to 16.0%. Despite the achievements of modern angiology, the use of expensive diagnostic and treatment methods, the frequency of limb amputations remains high and amounts to 11-37%. Enezate T.H. (2017) notes that 15-20% of DEC patients die within 1 year after hospital treatment. Occupying the fourth place in the overall structure of embolisms, DEC leads to the death of 20-30% and disability of 15-25% of patients.
The most rare localization of acute occlusion is the distal arterial bed, the arteries of the foot are extremely rarely affected.
