The learned societies of the Russian Empire

The present article is devoted to the investigation of the learned societies of the Russian Empire. The learned societies are important part of the academic culture. The investigation of the academic culture of the Russian Empire is topical because the imperial period has been important for the development of Russian science and education. There is given a review of scientific activities of the most important learned societies in the present article.
