The concept of "Sports": socio- philosophical aspect

The article is devoted to the socio-philosophical analysis of the phenome-non of sport. In the opinion of the author, the sport has ceased to be the occupation of professionals for whom engaging in them means achieving a certain result. Today, the sociocultural status of the sport is such that it can not be studied only in the plane of physical culture. The actuality of the socio-philosophical consideration of the phenomenon of sport is de-termined by the colossal humanistic potential of sport, which has a spe-cial significance in the 21st century.
