To the question of the sacred in traditional Russian culture

The article is devoted to issues relating to the sacred component in the traditional Russian culture. The semantics of the sacred, the pagan origins of the sacred in culture are considered. An important place in the article is occupied by the analysis of the language and the meaning of the text of the sacred sources in culture, the relationship between art and religion, and the process of secularization of art is considered.
