This article presents the solution of the problems of
constructing the exposition of the Soviet era, the opposition of the prerevolutionary era and the emerging Soviet era, as well as the contact
of these two epochs, radically different in nature, and the opportunity
to form in practice linearity in chronological sequence. This task in the
practical activity of the museum as a principle of continuation from the
interior of merchant life to the interior of Soviet life was implemented
through an exposition solution – a communal apartment. The process
of preparing a fragment of the interior of a communal apartment allows
the visitor to reveal the history of the city of Verkhneudinsk, the county
center, Ulan-Ude of the Buryat-Mongolian ASSR. This project is presented
as a way to gain new experience and transition to objects of display of the
Soviet and post-Soviet era in the museum environment.
