The term “capitalocene” characterizes global changes in nature, as well as changes that occurred in the life and consciousness of society as a result of the formation of the capitalist society in Western countries. The phenomenon of capitalocene itself implies social differentiation, which consists in the division of society into two parts: a small group of owners of fixed capital on the planet and the rest of humanity working for them. The capitalist model of planetary development that emerges from this assumes the use of nature itself as the main source of productive resources. However, the ecological agenda of the capitalocene calls attention not only to the construction of a standardized scheme of the production cycle on a global scale, but also to the alienation of humanity as a species from nature, and in particular from its ecological problems. The capitalist reality actualizes the question of personal and planetary responsibility for the aggravation of the ecological crisis, questioning the assertion of universal guilt of humanity for catastrophic climate change, thus separating it from the direct consequences of its activities in the category of the natural.
