Architectural space, correlating with social space, coordinates the activities of individuals and social groups, dividing and uniting them at certain points. In conditions of increasing social conflict and cultural crises, the problem of finding ways to stabilize society becomes particularly significant, including through means available to architecture as an environment of social life. A comprehensive, multifaceted solution to this problem is necessary, which involves, among other possible approaches, working on structuring the living space of individuals, appealing to the deep layers of their consciousness and historical memory, as it concerns fundamental existential values. The amphitheater suggests uniting people not on the basis of the universalization of consumption but on a deeper spiritual foundation — it is a space that brings people together in real time and place around a specific event or action. Research into the socio-philosophical context of constructing amphitheater space and the possibilities of actualizing this architectural form in modern social and urban realities can be one of the sources for solving pressing sociocultural problems of postmodernism.
