FEATURES OF RUSSIAN FOREIGN INVESTMENT AMID THE INCREASED SANCTIONS PRESSURE

The article analyzes the specifics of Russian investments abroad in 2022-2024 in the context of sharply increased sanctions pressure on Russia from the European Union and the United States. Investments of the country's residents abroad are an essential component of the international capital movement. The motives for making investments may vary based on the attractiveness of the conditions for their application in different countries. Investors can pursue various economic benefits in the form of, for example, lower production costs or lower customs duties, technological and resource advantages, favorable tax regimes, market expansion, and risk diversification. This article examines the dynamics of Russian investments abroad by items of the financial account of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation based on data from the Bank of Russia.
