The article updates the methods of translating epithets from English into Russian in tourism-related texts. A linguotranslation and linguostylistic analysis of advertising texts was conducted. Dictionary translation correspondences were selected when translating epithets. Methods for preserving the pragmatic potential of the original text were determined. Translation transformations used to organize a context that meets the author's intentions, in which the influencing potential of the selected lexical units can be realized, were identified.
The social significance is due to the fact that the results of the study can help to form a positive image of the state in the international arena through an adequate translation of the means of linguistic representation of cultural heritage in an advertising text on tourism topics.
