DEVELOPMENT OF INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE IN CHINESE PEDAGOGICAL THEORY AND PRACTICE IN THE CONDITIONS OF GLOBALIZATION

This article is devoted to the study of the development of intercultural competence in Chinese pedagogical theory and practice in the context of globalization. The relevance of the topic is due to the intensification of intercultural contacts in the educational sphere and the need to prepare teachers capable of effectively working in a multicultural environment. The aim of the study is to identify the specifics and main trends in the development of Chinese teachers' intercultural competence based on an analysis of theoretical approaches and empirical data. The work employs methods of comparative pedagogical analysis, surveys, interviews, and statistical data processing. The empirical basis was formed by the results of a survey of 350 teachers from various regions of China. The study identified the particularities of understanding the essence and structure of intercultural competence within Chinese pedagogical science, and characterized the main strategies for its development in the system of teacher education. It was established that the level of intercultural competence of Chinese teachers is related to factors such as experience in intercultural interaction, knowledge of foreign languages, and specialized training. A model for developing teachers’ intercultural competence, taking into account the sociocultural features of Chinese society, is proposed. The results of the study can be used to improve teacher training and professional development programs in the context of the internationalization of education.
