The article highlights the analytical review of modern literature devoted to the problem of studying the role of the family in the rehabilitation and correction of addictive behavior of adolescents with borderline personality disorder. It is noted that parents play a crucial role and can be considered as a mediator or barrier in the whole process of rehabilitation and correction of adolescent addictive behavior.
Four main problem areas are highlighted: 1. Parents as a source of adolescents' addictive behavior. 2. Parents trying to avoid responsibility for adolescents with addictive behaviors. 3. Parents as an active part of the rehabilitation process. 4. Parents as a barrier to effective care. There is a need for specific interventions to support parental involvement in rehabilitation. Moreover, the need for psychotherapy for members of multiproblem families, as well as correctional work regarding the negative perceptions and attitudes of parents towards their addict children is noted.
The conducted generalization study can be useful in conceptualizing the peculiarities of the role of the family in the correction of addictive behavior in adolescents with borderline personality disorder and a systemic logical model of consistent psycho-clinical rehabilitation of this group of patients.
