The article "Restoration as a dialogue with history: Monuments of Moscow in a modern context" explores the importance of architectural monuments of the capital as carriers of cultural identity and historical memory. Moscow, with its unique architectural landscape, is a living chronicle reflecting various eras and styles such as Neoclassicism, Art Nouveau, Constructivism and the Stalinist Empire. Restoration of monuments is considered as an important process aimed at preserving cultural values and preventing their destruction in the context of globalization and urbanization. The article focuses on the role of local communities and public organizations in the process of preserving cultural heritage, emphasizing the importance of their participation in shaping public consciousness and pride in their history. Modern technologies, such as 3D modeling and virtual reality, open up new horizons for restorers, allowing them to more effectively preserve and adapt monuments to modern conditions. The author emphasizes that the preservation of cultural heritage is not only a technical process, but also an important cultural act linking the past with the future. The article calls for the active involvement of society in heritage conservation initiatives, which is a key factor for sustainable development and social justice. The preservation and restoration of monuments of architecture and art become the basis for the formation of the identity of society and the transfer of knowledge to future generations.
